More Ways to Make a Lasting Impact

Gift by Will (Bequest) – Include specific language in your will or trust naming MCPAWS as the beneficiary of a testamentary gift. Simply specify a specific dollar amount, a percentage of your estate or the residue of your estate.

Beneficiary of your Life Insurance, IRA, or Retirement Plan – Name MCPAWS as the beneficiary of all or a portion of your life insurance or retirement funds (e.g. IRA, 401(k) or 403(b) plans) to potentially reduce taxes.

A qualified charitable distribution (QCD) is a wonderful option for people 70 ½ and older. That’s because it allows you to make a gift to the animals — from $100 to $108,000 — without the distribution counting as taxable income. This giving option is a direct contribution made from your traditional or Roth IRA to a public charity like MCPAWS, and it is a great option if you don’t normally itemize your charitable deductions.

Gifts from your Donor-Advised Fund (DAF) – A DAF is like a charitable savings account: You contribute to the fund as frequently as you like and then recommend grants to MCPAWS while getting tax benefits.
