Health BENEFITS: We don’t have a “one size fits all” mindset at MCPAWS. Most of our employee benefits can be tailored to meet your needs, whether those needs focus on price point, medical coverage or other individual aspects of your life. All employees that work at least 25 hours/week are eligible for the MCPAWS health benefits program.
- MCPAWS Sponsored Medical Insurance: MCPAWS offers a choice of at four different health care plans. Options vary by price-points and coverage levels. All your options will be explained to you during enrollment so you can make the best choice for your family and your needs. MCPAWS covers 50% of your monthly premiums
- MCPAWS Paid Short-term Disability Insurance: Benefit eligible employees receive a weekly benefit equal to 60% of your gross salary in the event of a short-term accident or illness that keeps you from work

Position: Animal Care Technician (full-time)
Location: MCPAWS Regional Animal Shelter
Reports To: Shelter Manager
Salary: $15-$20/hour
Animal Care Technicians are some of the most important team members we have at MCPAWS as they are responsible for performing all basic duties associated with providing and maintaining a safe, sanitary, and humane atmosphere for animals being cared for at the shelter.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Daily Animal Care and Handling
Treat all animals humanely, with compassion and concern, both on and off the job, and transmit these values to others
Assure all animals are well cared for in terms of providing basic, daily necessities like food, water, exercise, and safe and comfortable living conditions
Perform daily sanitation of all canine and/or feline housing areas according to MCPAWS policies and procedures
Monitor the health and behavior of animals and report any pertinent changes to the supervisor and/or Shelter Medicine Program Coordinator according to MCPAWS policies and procedures
Administer daily medications as directed by the supervisor and/or Shelter Medicine Program Coordinator
Carry out implemented behavior and kennel enrichment programs
Retrieve dogs for the public as requested
Provide feedback and assistance for dog pairing and introductions for daily playgroups
Marketing support; handle animals safely and gently for marketing photos and videos

Position: Sales Associate
Location: MCPAWS Thrift Store
Reports To: Thrift Store Manager
Salary: $15-$17/hour
To be a friendly and courteous ambassador for MCPAWS Thrift Store, Animal Shelter, and Hospital. The best candidate for this position will always be courteous and cheerful with both our local and out-of-town donors, customers, volunteers, and team. To assist customers as they shop within a store. They must greet customers; answer questions related to the merchandise and store policies and locate items. Retail Associates may also process payments and must keep the sales floor tidy and well-stocked. Associates will be not afraid to get their hands dirty working on a variety of tasks and will always remain flexible. The associate will fit in smoothly with our small staff and bring new and unusual skills to our group.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Greet customers/donors with kindness and courtesy
• Operate an electronic POS system/register with accuracy
• Answer the telephone kindly and give accurate information or refer to the manager on duty
• Work together with MCPAWS volunteers and fellow staff members in a friendly and collaborative spirit
• Maintain a clean, fun, safe, and tidy store environment
• Work well and willingly with the MCPAWS team
• Put away newly priced inventory
• Feed, water, love, and promote accurate cat adoptions. Some cleaning duties associated with caring for cats
while they reside at the store will be required.
• Clean, sort, price, and test donations

Position: Assistant Manager
Location: MCPAWS Thrift Store
Reports To: Thrift Store Manager
Salary: $18.68 – $25
This position requires an energetic and self-motivated person to assist the store manager in MCPAWS Thrift Stores’ daily operations. This position works directly with the Store Manager to ensure excellent store performance and can direct and support staff and volunteers to ensure a safe, efficient, and profitable operation when the manager is not on duty. The Assistant Manager must be able to perform all duties of the manager when the manager is absent.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Represent the mission of MCPAWS Regional Animal Shelter and Thrift Store with excellent customer service skills at all times.
- Work closely and effectively with the Store Manager, including, but not limited to, maintaining a working knowledge of day-to-day operations and budgets, adoptions and care of shelter cats housed at the Thrift Store, addressing common problems and issues with creativity and positivity, contributing toward the evolution of the store, and help execute projects and/or promotions.
- Strong leadership and communication skills; ensure that staff and volunteers have the tools and guidance they need to do their best. Must be able to deal with unexpected challenges and handle issues respectfully and professionally.

Position: Part-time Relief Veterinarian (Shelter/Community/Private Practice)
Location: MCPAWS Veterinary Hospital
Schedule: Part-time
Reports to: Director of Veterinary Services
Salary: $700/day
Classification: Exempt
Benefits: $10,000 Signing Bonus
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an accredited veterinary college
• Currently licensed in Idaho to practice veterinary medicine or ability to obtain a license upon hire
• Qualified and eligible to obtain Idaho state pharmacy license and DEA license
EXPERIENCE:
• One year licensed Veterinarian with the ability to work independently
WORK SCHEDULE:
• Mondays and Tuesdays with additional days optional (possibility of Saturdays 9-2 if interested)
• No night shifts
