Health BENEFITS: We don’t have a “one size fits all” mindset at MCPAWS. Most of our employee benefits can be tailored to meet your needs, whether those needs focus on price point, medical coverage or other individual aspects of your life. All employees that work at least 25 hours/week are eligible for the MCPAWS health benefits program.

  • MCPAWS Sponsored Medical Insurance: MCPAWS offers a choice of at four different health care plans. Options vary by price-points and coverage levels. All your options will be explained to you during enrollment so you can make the best choice for your family and your needs. MCPAWS covers 50% of your monthly premiums
  • MCPAWS Paid Short-term Disability Insurance: Benefit eligible employees receive a weekly benefit equal to 60% of your gross salary in the event of a short-term accident or illness that keeps you from work

Position: Animal Care Technician (full-time)

Location: MCPAWS Regional Animal Shelter

Reports To: Shelter Manager

Salary: $15-$20/hour

Animal Care Technicians are some of the most important team members we have at MCPAWS as they are responsible for performing all basic duties associated with providing and maintaining a safe, sanitary, and humane atmosphere for animals being cared for at the shelter.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Daily Animal Care and Handling
 Treat all animals humanely, with compassion and concern, both on and off the job, and transmit these values to others
 Assure all animals are well cared for in terms of providing basic, daily necessities like food, water, exercise, and safe and comfortable living conditions
 Perform daily sanitation of all canine and/or feline housing areas according to MCPAWS policies and procedures
 Monitor the health and behavior of animals and report any pertinent changes to the supervisor and/or Shelter Medicine Program Coordinator according to MCPAWS policies and procedures
 Administer daily medications as directed by the supervisor and/or Shelter Medicine Program Coordinator
 Carry out implemented behavior and kennel enrichment programs
 Retrieve dogs for the public as requested
 Provide feedback and assistance for dog pairing and introductions for daily playgroups
 Marketing support; handle animals safely and gently for marketing photos and videos

Veterinarian: Full-time, Part-Time, Relief, and Seasonal

Location: McCall, Idaho

Salary $80,000-$140,000 depending on experience and time commitment.

MCPAWS Veterinary Hospital has multiple Veterinarian positions open. In search of relief, seasonal, or part-time work, with the potential of moving to full-time.

Our Veterinary Hospital works closely with community pets, offering low-cost spay/neuter services, general medicine, and care for our shelter animals as needed. We have an excellent support staff with our Vet Techs and Vet Assistants, and we are looking to expand our team.

WHY McCall, ID:

McCall is a small resort town in the central mountains of Idaho. McCall is known in the winter for its snowmobiling, alpine, Nordic and backcountry skiing. Area ski resorts boast a combined 2,600 skiable acres featuring vertical drops ranging from 1,800 to 2,800 feet. In the summer, McCall’s warm sunny days provide the perfect setting to enjoy hiking, mountain biking, fishing, and golfing at the five area golf courses. Payette Lake in the summer is popular for boating, sailing, jet skiing and swimming. The north fork of the Payette River flows through McCall and its world class whitewater is a playground for kayakers and canoers. McCall is a family friendly small town with a highly ranked school district and offers medical care via St. Luke’s Hospital and Primary Care Clinic.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an accredited veterinary college
  • Currently licensed in Idaho to practice veterinary medicine or ability to obtain a license upon hire
  • Qualified and eligible to obtain Idaho state pharmacy license and DEA license

EXPERIENCE:

  • One year licensed Veterinarian with the ability to work independently
