Meet Squirrel

Squirrel is an adorable young man. He recently went on a Dog Day Out adventure and here is what we learned:

I was lucky enough to spend a sunny New Year’s Eve day with Squirrel! He’s a 1-year-old, 48lb lover who is 1000% ready to jump into your life for 2026 and beyond!

Some shelter pups are understandably unsure or nervous about a dog day out at first; we never know exactly what they’ve been through, but Squirrel fell into the routine like we’d been hanging out for ages! He hopped right into the backseat and rode happily and politely. On our walk/run, he was great on leash, eager for sniffs, but also pretty good at moving right along.

We encountered a number of adults, children, and other dogs, both on and off-leash, and Squirrel was glad to meet all of them and also respectfully move along if they were not interested. If he did meet another dog, he was great at getting going again when I was ready.

Squirrel LOVED the snow–eating it, rolling in it, and prancing in it! Although I’m sure he could quickly learn “sit” right now, he’s a master of the “down-stay”, which is quite impressive! It seems he skipped ahead to the tough stuff.

Squirrel loves his ball, everyone, other pups, treats, car rides, and adventures. He acts like he’s already living the good life, so come adopt him for furever fun!
