Meet Gus

Meet Gus, the Great Orange Explorer
Gus is currently seeking a permanent basecamp and a Chief Logistics Officer (that’s you) to manage his snacks. While he may look like a giant block of cheddar cheese, Gus is actually a high-performance adventurer trapped in a delightfully round body.
The Explorer’s Stats
Name: Gus
Color: Classic Ginger
Build: Sturdy / Robust
Mission: To boldly go where no cat has gone before (mostly the pantry).
Professional Experience
Gus does not do “lazy.” Since arriving at the shelter, he has successfully mapped the ventilation system, audited the integrity of the laundry baskets, and discovered three different ways to open a “child-proof” cabinet. He views a closed door not as a boundary, but as a personal challenge.
Personality and Traits
Gus is a confident, social guy who greets every stranger like a long-lost hiking partner. He is remarkably brave and transitions to new environments with the ease of a seasoned traveler. If there is a high shelf, he will climb it. If there is a cardboard box, he will claim it.
After a long day of domestic discovery, Gus is a champion purrer. He is a firm believer that the best way to recover from a trek is a heavy-duty nap on a human lap.
Seeking the Perfect Expedition Partner
Gus needs a home with plenty of vertical space and a family that won’t mind a fifteen-pound orange shadow following them around to “supervise” daily chores. He is ready to bring his big energy and even bigger heart to your home.

He is neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated. Call the shelter at 208-634-3647 for questions. Walk-ins are welcome to visit with the animals during business hours!
