Volunteer Tools & Resources
Basic volunteer orientations are the 2nd Saturdays of each month at 10am, by appointment. Please call the shelter to schedule your orientation: (208) 634-3647.
Join us for our monthly volunteer meetings on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 5:30. Locations TBD.
Kennel Skills Classes
Kennel skills classes with Christa will be held on the 3rd Saturday of the month at 9:30am. These classes will focus on working with dogs and cats in the shelter. You will need to complete a class of your choice (dogs or cats) within three months of your initial orientation.
Volunteer Mentor Program
MCPAWS has a wonderful program to help new volunteers train and feel more comfortable volunteering at MCPAWS. We will pair you with a senior volunteer to shadow on your first few days volunteering. This will help you get acquainted with the routine and the animals.
Green Tag Dogs
Dogs with green tags on their kennels are safe to walk by anyone! If a kennel does not have a green tag, feel free to ask a kennel attendant or staff member about that dog before removing from the kennel.
